Why is Division 7A sooo bloody complicated?
Contrary to popular opinion, it's not to drive you insane. It's because dodgy taxpayers and/or their advisors have come up with dodgy..ahem...innovative schemes to circumvent it and each time it happens Treasury plugs the loophole it up with new legislation. So we've ended up with a Frankenstein monster legislation!
